Today I am getting up refreshed and loaded with energy. My mood is a complete opposite of the one I had yesterday, and I am getting ready to start the new day. The weather outside drastically changed from rain and snow to a beautiful sunny day. There was not even one cloud in the sky! I had forgotten how crazy the weather in Toronto can get. Despite the weather, I love this city! I just realized that it has been already one week since I arrived in Canada. I am almost half-way though my quarantine, wow! One more week, and I will be waiting for my results from the last PCR test that I need to take after 14-days of self-isolation. Fantastic!
The breakfast came an hour late today. I regret that I did not bring any snacks from home, just to have something to munch on between meals. I might order some goodies from an online grocery delivery store later. There are many online stores here you can choose from, during, and even after your quarantine. These options help avoid shopping and mingling with people at regular stores during lockdowns.
However, in many cases there is a delivery fee, and some stores charge an additional service fee or an eco-fee. In most cases you will pay around $7 – $15 just for the service itself. I found a few places and compared prices and services to find the best one for me.
Once breakfast arrived, today’s Parkside Residence menu for today included pancakes with maple syrup, berries, coffee as usual, apple juice and a tangerine. Although it came later than expected, it was delicious!
Work kept me busy for the rest of the day and time passed by quickly. I finished after 5:30 p.m. and per my established routine, it was time for my workout. I find it very important to do something each day as my step tracker on my phone showed me how much my movement decreased each day. The few steps I do between my room and bathroom are just not enough and the totals of each day are alarming. Although, the numbers might not be 100% accurate, the difference is mind-blowing – back home I did from 1,490 steps on my lazy days to approximately 10,500 steps per day on my active days. I had even reached over 20,000 steps when I was extremely active during my weekends.
Can you guess how many steps my phone shows me since I have been in quarantine? It is from 69 steps to 336 per day! I profoundly recommend joining dance and other movement classes for people in quarantine. Check out my ILAC Quarantine Chronicles Day 3 and Day 6 where I provided a few suggestions on how you can work out without equipment from comfort of your new home. Taking care of yourself and maintaining your physical and mental health every day is the best way to get through this pandemic, but even more so for the quarantine period.
The day is almost over and I am looking forward to entering my 2nd week of self-isolation. I will talk to you again tomorrow. Good night, all!
