Additional Fees & Admission Details

Education Qualification: High School/Secondary School Diploma or higher education.

English Proficiency: Achievement on a recognized standardized language assessment with an overall level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic) or higher. ILAC IC accepts the following tests and scores:

  • IELTS Academic: 5.5 Overall 
  • TOEFL iBT: 46 Overall 
  • CELPIP: L(6), S(6), R(5), W(5) 
  • CAEL: 40 Overall 
  • Duolingo: 95 Overall  
  • Cambridge B2 First (FCE) or C1 Advanced (CAE) Exams: 160 Overall
  • Cambridge Linguaskill: B2 Overall 
  • Language Cert: B2 Overall
  • MET: B2 Overall 
  • ITEP Academic: 3.5 Overall 
  • EIKEN: Pre-1 Minimum

Language Proficiency Policy  

English is the language of instruction and course materials at ILAC International College (“ILACIC”). All applicants must submit proof of English language proficiency as part of the admissions process. Language proficiency requirements are admission requirements and may not be waived by either the institution or the student.  

Minimum Language Proficiency Requirements  

Applicants may demonstrate proof of English language proficiency in one of the following ways: 

  1. Completion of 3 years of full-time secondary education (Grades 8-12), including English 10 with a grade of ‘C+’ or higher from a country* where English is one of the principal languages. 
  1. Submit evidence of completion of 2 years of full-time post-secondary education completed in English in a country* where English is one of the principal languages.
  1. Submit evidence of graduation from a language program with an established pathway/articulation agreement allowing direct entry (no further testing required) to a diploma or degree program at a public institution in Canada.  
  1. Submit valid (taken within the last 2 years), official evidence of achievement on a recognized standardized language test/assessment as approved by PTIRU.

Step 1

Fill out the application form at ilacic.com/apply-now. You will need to upload the following documents:

• Copy of Passport

• Copy of your High School/Secondary Education Diploma

• Copy of Proof of Language Proficiency (see above overview of accepted tests and scores)

Step 2

If you meet the admission requirements and are accepted into the program, we will issue a Letter of Acceptance.

Step 3

Apply for Study Permit/Co-op Work Permit/Visa, if applicable. ILACIC will advise you if a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is required for your intended program of study.

Step 4

Apply for your Student Permit/Co-op Work Permit/VISA, if applicable.

Interview

All students planning to attend ILAC International College are required to join an interview to determine if the chosen program is right for them. The interview will also assess the student’s English level and can be conducted in person or by Zoom.

Step 1

Fill out the application form at ilacic.com/apply-now. You will need to upload the following documents: • Copy of Passport • Copy of your High School/Secondary Education Diploma*

*For Toronto only: if a student completes his/her diploma/degree in a country other than Canada or the U.S., the student must pass a FREE qualifying test (Wonderlic) during application.

Step 2

After receiving the required documentation, we will send you: • A link to our FREE online Cambridge English admission test (not applicable if you provide official English test results – IELTS Academic or TOEFL). • A link to schedule a Skype or in-person interview to make a final assessment of your English level and determine if the program is right for you.

Step 3

If you are accepted to the program after the interview, we will provide a Letter of Acceptance.

Step 4

Apply for your Student Permit/Co-op Work Permit/VISA, if applicable.
