ILACย receivesย approvalย to reopen to international students outside of Canadaย
ILAC isย now on theย approvedย list ofย designated learning institutions (DLIs)ย that have reopenedย to international studentsย from outside ofย Canada. Theย listย also includes ILACโs Higher Education division made up of ILAC International College, Sterling College and Canadian Tourism College (CTC).ย
International students who haveย or have been approved for a study permitย andย areโฏtravelling to Canada for a non-discretionary or non-optional purposeย are now able to attend courses at ILAC schools in Toronto and Vancouver.ย
In orderย to reopen to international students who arenโt currently in Canada,ย Ontario and British Columbiaย had toย reviewย ILACโsย COVID-19 readiness planย to ensure itย protects theย health and safety ofย all students, staff and the ILAC community.ย ILACโs readiness planย includesย safe and comfortable accommodationย arrangements for the mandatory 14-dayย quarantine period forย new students.ย
โWeโve been safely running in-person classes since July,โ says Jonathan Kolber, CEO of ILAC. โNow weโve come full circle and are ready to receive international studentsย who arenโt currently in Canada.ย Itโs been a long road and our team has worked tirelessly to make it happen.โย
Over the past few months, ILAC has successfully provided quarantine accommodation in Toronto and Vancouver for more than 70 international students who arrived in Canada during COVID-19. Overall, ILAC students have reported feeling happy and safe during their mandatory self-isolation, whether they stayed in homestay, residence or in a hotel.ย
The completeย list of institutions is available on the IRCC web pageย for international students affected by COVID-19 restrictions and is updated on a regular basis. ย
