“This is a unique opportunity for international students who don’t yet have the English requirements but want to take the first step in their path to higher education.” – Jonathan Kolber, ILAC International College President.

ILAC International College Announces New Pathway Partnerships with the Public Sector

POSTED BY: ILAC International College

It’s official – ILAC International College is the first private career college to partner with the public sector. This fall, ILAC IC is launching seven new pathway agreements with recognized post-secondary institutions across Canada. The new agreements will give ILAC IC graduates pathways to programs at Seneca College, Humber College, Georgian College, Cambrian College, Douglas College, Vancouver Community College and University Canada West*.

“This is a unique opportunity for international students who don’t yet have the English requirements but want to take the first step in their path to higher education,” says Jonathan Kolber, ILAC International College President. “In addition, the pathways serve our public partners because ILAC IC college diplomas help to prepare international students for the post-secondary environment.”

The new agreements with the public institutions will allow ILAC International College graduates the opportunity to apply for conditional offers, language testing exemptions and advanced standing in certain cases.

Georgian College in Ontario is a long-time ILAC pathway partner and one of the growing number of public colleges that are looking at ways in which to collaborate with ILAC International College.

“Georgian College faculty members have been investigating block transfer options for ILAC IC’s Sales and Marketing Diploma graduates to offer course exemptions on many of the subjects they learn during the program,” says Mustafa Aydin, a Regional Manager at Georgian International. “Course exemptions will be given towards Georgian College’s 2-year Business Diploma Program”.

According to Douglas College in British Columbia, international students will be better prepared for post-secondary studies in the public sector after graduating with a diploma from ILAC International College.

“ILAC IC students will hit the ground running at Douglas College,” says Lindsay Haselton, Director of International Marketing & Enrolment at Douglas College. “They bring existing skills in business fundamentals, diverse perspectives, and strong English skills gained through ILAC IC’s unique program offerings.”

ILAC is a pioneer in university pathways and currently has over 80 distinct pathway agreements with higher education institutions across Canada. The new ILAC International College pathways are designed to be a stepping stone for students to succeed and are built on long-term relationships that ILAC has with the public sector.

“The ILAC International College B2B strategy is to work as a pipeline for colleges and universities in Canada, not to compete with them,” continues Kolber. “Unlike most other private colleges, our strategy is to cooperate with the public sector because that best serves international students on the whole.”

*University Canada West (UCW) is a private, for-profit, educational institution in British Columbia that offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs in business and management.
